New Threshold Ui!

Hi there, we’ve updated the app with a new custom made threshold control.

It should be a bit easier to work with than the sliders we had previously.
Please let us know what you think or if there are any concerns!

Looks something like this. You can input the numbers manually or use the ± signs.

A lot of people are going to be really happy about this. I know cause I’m one of em.

Bugs:

  • Alerts page broken and will not load on:
    • VWC sensors
    • DO sensors
    • ORP sensors
  • Pulse One devices show a CO2 parameter
  • THV sensor alerts page doesn’t have buttons for Dew Point

Thanks for the bug report. I just passed the info along to Gregory in our engineering chat and he’ll look into these ASAP. Appreciate your feedback

Cheers and thanks John

Fix deployed.
I checked, seems good now.
I hope there are now further issues, but please lmk if there’s anything else.

I have (2) VWC-1 sensors both with different alerts thresholds:
sensorId 2088

  • bulk ec has no min threshold
  • pwec has no min threshold
  • vwc has no min threshold

sensorId 1063

  • bulk ec has no min or max threshold
  • pwec has no min or max threshold

THV sensor lacks dew point alerts

ORP alert is wonky:
Min set temp to 65 and Max temp set to 75
current temp is 70.4 and its alerts has temp being low

EDIT:
Additionally these seem small on desktop compared to the rest of the UI and just right on mobile.

I will look into this pretty soon.

Nice update. Unfortunately it seems I’m unable to change night time vpd alert values on my pulse one now. It changes, but doesn’t save when I leave that page.

Hello! Thank you for letting us know.

I tested this control and it worked fine for me, However there are 2 things worth mentioning.

  1. I found one thing that was off for the night thresholds. It seems the increment value was set to 1, rather than 0.1 (what is what we use for VPD). I deployed an update for this, but i doubt this is the cause of your issue.

How are you entering your new threshold value? By text input?
If you are entering by text input - you should un focus when you are done changing the value.
(tap anywhere on the screen to stop editing. you will get a loader and text confirming that the change is made).

If the issue persists, please assist us with providing the device id and maybe a vid of the issue.
Best regards Greg

Hello, thanks for letting us know.

I’ve been checking the issues you reported this morning.
About the ORP stuff - I’m looking at sensor 2424. I can see that for the ORP threshold you have 296 set as the low value, and 700 as the high value. This doesn’t match the numbers you posted (65 and 75).
Could you please double check that we are on the same page? I will happily do some digging after.

As for the UI - fix deployed. I hope there are no more issues, but let me know if there’s anything else.

Making the control a bit larger on desktop is a good idea, i will add it to our task list, but no estimates on the dates atm.

Best regards, Greg

Sorry this is totally my fault, I wrote the wrong sensor. I was trying to report that the temp alert isn’t working on the DO meter, not ORP. The details are the same, so for my example the measured temp was between the min and max thresholds(65 and 75) and its still alerting.

Additionally DO and ORP sensors alert with something akin to:
“Tdo1temperaturethreshold is Low” when one would expect “DO-1 temperature is Low”. I did include this in the spreadsheet I sent to Chris, so I don’t wanna double up on reports.

Thanks so much for looking!

Got it, i’ll check the faulty alert in a day or so and get back to you.
The update for “Tdo1temperaturethreshold is Low” might come along a bit later.

And thank you for all of your feedback

@monstermash Hello, deployed a fix for the buggy temperature threshold on the DO sensor.
Sorry about that, typo crept in and in it firing off of the DO, rather than temp.

Appreciate your patience.

@Ggofman I think I encountered an issue on the settings page, not sure if it’s related to this fix or if it was a pre-existing issue.

When I select a template, the new values are not loaded unless I exit the page and come back.

Hey Noah.

I’m happy to dig in to the issue you are reporting.
I took a brief glance rn and could not reproduce.

Could you please lmk what sensor type / device type you are trying to use and what do you mean by
“the new values are not loaded unless I exit the page and come back” - not sure i follow ?

If you can do a screen recording - that would be greatly appreciated. ( my email is gregory@pulsegrow.com)
