Day/ Night Leaf Temp Offset for VPD

Please add the ability to set separate values for day and night leaf temperature offset to the product roadmap…

** “ It is well known that plants photosynthesise in the presence of sunlight, consuming carbon dioxide, water and energy, and producing glucose and oxygen. The reverse reaction, respiration, goes on all the time, consuming glucose and oxygen, and providing the plant with energy, whilst releasing water and carbon dioxide. During the day, photosynthesis is dominant, so there is a net release of oxygen. At night, photosynthesis stops but respiration continues, so there is a net consumption of oxygen.

Photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy → C6H12O6 + 6O2

Respiration: C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy “

I like this idea, I’m surprised I don’t see it more often.

During the day the leaf is transpiring a bunch, cooling the leaf, but also being baked by the light (assuming it’s near the light). During the night the leaf has no light warming it, and transpiration is also much less. It makes sense that if there was a leaf temp offset that there would be a day and a night value unless it happens to be extremely similar in both instances.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never measured night vpd, since I typically just target something lower than the day, but for people getting very scientific this would be useful.
