Average Trends, combined sensors, Zones

I couldn’t find this requested elsewhere, correct me if I’m wrong.

When I create a zone, I can select a group of sensors that are in the same room. I assumed that by doing so I could get a trend that represented the average of the sensors, but learned this is not the case. I would like for this feature to be added. For extra credit, it would be nice to be able to select which groups of sensors are averaged within a zone (for instance, in a tiered room, I’d like to average all top sensors, all bottom sensors, and then all sensors in a room).

I noticed that the checkbox “display averages” shows me a live average on the zones dashboard, but due to fluctuations and needing to set day & night settings I need to know the average over a 24 hour period not at any one time.

I run rooms that are all two levels, and the top and bottom level are always a bit different. Ideally, I’d choose my targets based on the average. My current protocol is to look at each sensor’s 24 hour trend separately, calculate the day and night averages manually, and then go to the zone view to compare the trends against one another to make sure they aren’t disparate. Ideally I would select the zone, see a band that represented the min/max of all sensors, with a line trend that represented the average, with the min/max & average displayed below the graph just like in the single sensor view.

Thanks for the consideration!

Hey Noah! Thank you for the feedback.

We are currently doing some work on better batch reporting and our plan is to improve the zones a bit after that.
It’s a very reasonable suggestion and we will definitely keep it noted.
I understand that the average and charts are pretty basic right now.

Thanks G!

After posting I realized I think I talked about this feature in a different thread, but I don’t remember which one. Still, it’s good to keep it on the radar.

I have to say, Pulse is #1 when it comes to customer service out of all companies I currently deal with, which makes a huge difference in which technology I use and recommend.
